Keith Matson is a veteran business advisor, strategic accountant, consultant, mentor and facilitator.  In a professional career spanning 39 years he has amassed a wealth of business knowledge that is available for ‘mind-mining’ by his clients.

As Alito’s Director of Accounting Services, Keith’s strategic understanding of business is coupled with his forensic and in-depth analysis – providing for his clients a broader and deeper understanding of the performance of their business, beyond the everyday “tax dedication” approach many other accountants take.

Keith commenced his public practice as an accountant in 1981.  Prior to this, he spent 11 years at the Australian Tax Office, 18 months of those as Senior Investigator, Corporate and 3 years as Senior Investigator, Tax Avoidance Schemes.  Such experience has given him a unique and comprehensive knowledge of tax law.  Since leaving the ATO he has built, run and sold his own accounting practices and other businesses as well as consulting to both small and corporate clients on performance improvement.  As such, he is an Entrepreneurial Accountant with an Entrepreneurial mindset – seeing things other accountants (particularly those who don’t own their own business) can’t see.

In addition to his accounting acumen, Keith is one of Australia’s leading authorities on the development of human potential and personal effectiveness.  A dynamic and inspiring speaker, trainer & facilitator, he has delivered a wide range of programs to thousands of people on the subjects of personal and professional development. He specialises in exploring the relationship between achieving personal success and the personal mindset that drives, or hinders, that success.    He was one of the early pioneers in Australia of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Accelerated Learning and Transformational Learning. 

Keith is highly qualified in a range of professional & business areas giving him unique insight into the importance of all key discipline areas of business working synergistically.... not as disparate parts.  His unique spectrum of expertise across accounting, strategy, people, culture and general business management enables his clients to receive deep and holistic advice, not only on running their business but achieving their lifestyle goals as well.  He holds a Master of Business Administration & professional qualifications in Accounting, Law, Tax Law and Corporate Governance.  Keith’s focus is increased performance through developing and driving the execution of effective strategic management processes, identifying, recruiting and developing people and creating and managing the cultural change necessary to support the performance drive.

Keith has taught Accounting, Tax Law, Business Planning, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategic Management at University level & given seminars locally, regionally and nationally on topics including Strategic Analysis and Planning, Business Planning, Innovation, Conflict Resolution, Marketing, Franchising, Turnaround Management, Corporate Finance, Information Management and Negotiations. He has provided in-house training for senior executives and has given seminars to entrepreneurs in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, America & Canada.

His Professional and Academic Qualifications demonstrate his breadth of expertise (no, he’s not a professional academic, all study has been completed part-time while working in the ‘real-world’).
